You see this girl on the right? Her name is Millie and she is 12 years old.

She suffers from Friedreich’s Ataxia. It’s a very rare neuromuscular condition, it’s so rare that it only affects about 1 in 50,000 people in the United States, the condition effects every muscle and every nerve, its is degenerative meaning everyday she is worse than the day before. She gradually loses the ability to live. There’s no cure for this condition. Most people with Friedreich’s ataxia die in early adulthood if there is significant heart disease, the most common cause of death. Some people with less severe symptoms live much longer. Unfortunately in addition to this condition she also suffers from Cardiomyopathy, Scoliosis which is a medical condition in which a person’s spine is curved from side to side and Pes Cavus caused by Ataxia.

I am writing this post to raise awareness across the world for this rare condition. Yes I say world, as here on Tumblr we have people from all over the world, and by reblogging this post, you can also raise awareness.
